Overview

Client requested an ondemand online LMS that is not resource intensive and can be used for global student training. English is used but interface can be changed to accommodate any language A request was made for Metrics tracking student progress. Test scores are visible to student and more detailed metrics visible to administrators.

Objective

Students — Provide an on-demand online solution that has an interactive but simple to use interface to enhance student learning. The objective is to create an online learning experience that uses as many learning modalities as possible; visual, audio, written and exam environments to enhance and reinforce learning for all learning styles. Allow students to track their own progress throughout learning modules with a view report mode.

A student forum is desired so that students may ask questions and trainers can post assignments and lead discussions. At the completion of course students should be able to assess the learning experience in an online evaluation.

Administrators — Provide administrative backend to track metrics. Metrics are required in the following areas: quiz results and group metrics. Interchangeable skins to help users identify different departments or different tests.

Solution

Students — Students view video learning modules with printable notes to enhance learning. The video interface is dynamic and can be viewed, stopped and started as many times as the student desires. The corresponding PDF study guide may be printed by the student.

Students must pass a final exam as well as a quiz at the end of each module. The passing score of 90% or higher can be adjusted higher or lower to meet the needs of the client. Students may view their own progress with reports and print results. The quizzes and exams serve to reinforce and assess learning. Administrators have ability to login to secured area to view student metrics.

A moderated forum provides an arena for trainers to lead discussions and answer student questions. The skin displayed is a Train-the-Trainer interface with Train-the-Trainer content. The same interface can be modified by our development team to represent any corporation or topic of training.

At the completion of the online training course students are asked to evaluate the experience in four short questions. A comment field allows students to make additional comments. These comments are tracked as data for administrators and is also visible to students in the report field.

Administrative Area – Easy use login provides administrators with valuable metrics at their finger tips. Metrics are tracked and test results may be viewed or printed. A drop down menu provides interchangeable and customized skins for each department.

Results

This ondemand LMS provides a user friendly interface for both students and administrators. The customized skins help students identify with different departments and/or different testing environments such as levels one, two and three of fire hazard safety.

The backend metrics are modifiable to include various metrics on users.
